Nightclub Jive!!!! Dance Company hits Adelaide!!!
Jive by Night is taking off in Adelaide. After seeing an opportunity from both overseas and around Australia, Adelaide
has supported Modern Jive's launch. With our new venue at Flinders St in the City we certainly have strived to provide the
best dancing venue possible for our customers.
What
is Nightclub Jive?
Years
ago some people in London realised they could get more people dancing a partner dance if they didn't try to teach them much
footwork, so they devised simple moves which could be taught quickly and only involved dancers walking to the beat and certainly
not worrying about which foot was which.
This developed into over a thousand moves ranging from simple to complex and now danced by
hundreds of thousands of people across the world.
The name for this new style of dance is Modern Jive. There are hundreds of different variations
of Modern Jive and sometimes people know it as a club or a brand name, but in our case we like to introduce it to you
as a great night out.......... Jive by Night!

What is Jive by Night?
"Jive by Night" is both a Dance Class and a Social Night.
Each night involves both Lessons and Social Dancing (Free Style) as follows....
What style of dance do you teach?
We teach a
style of dance called Modern and Nightclub Jive. With very little footwork and the focus more on the moves you can do
while you dance it's one of the easiest and most useable styles of dances around. It's even a great start if you want
to move onto other dance styles later.
Do I need a dance partner?
You are welcometo come along by yourself or with another person. We rotate partners
every few minutes so you can meet everyone in the room before Social Dancing begins.By rotating and dancing with everyone
you'll learn to dancemuch quicker and with the help of some of the Advanced Dancers (who also rotate) they'll help you with
your moves as you go.
How long will it take to "freestyle" in public?
Modern Jive is the simplest easiest form of dance that you can learn all you need to be able to do is walk
to a beat (which we teach you). By the end of the 1st Lesson you'll be able to "freestyle", 3 to 4 moves and by the end of
the 2nd Lesson you'll know around 5 to 6 moves.
Why Jive by Night?
Our focus is to teach you how to dance in a fun, friendly social environment. It's not just
about dancing, but about giving you a place where you can go to learn to dance, meet people and have a great night out.
It's all about the fun for us and we're always open to new ideas. We have regulartheme
nights like "glow in the dark" or "dance movie theme"where you have an opportunity to dress up and have some get involved.
In addition to all this we also run Dance Parties, SocialEvents, Beginner / Intermediate
/ Advanced Workshops, Public Demonstrations and we eventeach Choreographed Routines.
